But it was only a few years ago that I started painting. Thankfully years of doodle, shading practice and random sketching, plus using watercolour pencils for colour and blending, all held me in good stead to jump right in and hit the ground running.
That was when I discovered I love acrylic painting (and watercolour, but acrylic is my favourite). And that I love creating art from nature.
My choice in nature
I’ve always gravitated towards pets and floral scenes.
I love bright colours, looking at them feels like food for the soul, as corny as it sounds. I soak up the oversaturated scenes and they warm me up. They fill me with true joy.
Animals are what I care about deeply — it makes sense that animals would end up on my canvas, lively and safe forever. Not having to be at risk of abandonment or neglect. Just brightly coloured, happy, and eternal.
I hope you feel some of these feelings too when you look at my art
And so I wanted to share some of what Mother Nature has inspired. From my favourite flowers to adorable animals here is a selection, I would love to know what you think!
